I INVITED A CLAIRVOYANT TO MY BRIDAL CELEBRATION AS A PLAYFUL JOKE TO UNSETTLE MY CHALLENGING FUTURE MOTHER-IN-LAW

I INVITED A CLAIRVOYANT TO MY BRIDAL CELEBRATION AS A PLAYFUL JOKE TO UNSETTLE MY CHALLENGING FUTURE MOTHER-IN-LAW.

What began as innocent amusement swiftly escalated into a startling confrontation, uncovering a secret concealed in her luxury handbag that threatened to completely derail my wedding day.

I always sensed that my future mother-in-law didn’t approve of me. From the instant Jacob introduced us, it was evident she didn’t believe I was suitable for her son. Initially, I thought I was imagining it, but over time, she made it abundantly clear.

"I just don’t see how someone with your background would integrate into our family," she remarked one afternoon when Jacob wasn’t around. I could only gape at her in disbelief.

When we started organizing the wedding, things deteriorated further. Every choice I made was incorrect in her opinion. The cake was "too dull," the guest list was "too extensive," and she never missed an opportunity to ridicule my dress.

"Is that truly what you intend to wear?" she scoffed when I showed her a picture of my gown. "It looks inexpensive. Jacob deserves something better than this."

It was exhausting, but I attempted to brush off her remarks. I adored Jacob and didn’t want to create unnecessary issues. Still, I couldn’t shake the suspicion that she was deliberately trying to sabotage my happiness. That’s when I devised a plan—a harmless trick to teach her a lesson.

I arranged for a clairvoyant to attend my bridal gathering. It was meant to be lighthearted entertainment. I assumed the fortune teller could reveal a few amusing, personal details about my mother-in-law to catch her off guard.

I never expected anything significant to come from it—just a bit of fun, and perhaps, just maybe, she’d ease up.

The bridal gathering was flawless. My closest friends were there, laughing and sipping bubbly. The atmosphere was charged with excitement. The wedding was only a week away, and despite all the chaos, I finally felt like everything was falling into place.

Then the clairvoyant arrived.

She wore a long, flowing gown adorned with deep violet and gold details. Her gaze was dark and enigmatic, and her jewelry chimed softly as she moved. My friends whispered and giggled, eager for the experience.

We formed a circle, and she began by offering each of us a brief reading. She spoke of love, joy, and what lay ahead. Everything was proceeding exactly as I had envisioned.

But when she turned to my future mother-in-law, everything shifted. She pointed directly at her, her expression suddenly severe.

"You," the clairvoyant intoned, her voice low and commanding. "Your handbag... it contains a secret."

The room fell silent. The laughter and conversation evaporated in an instant. My heart pounded as I stared at her. This wasn’t part of the joke. What was happening?

My future mother-in-law fidgeted in her seat. She forced a smile, but I could see the unease lurking behind her eyes.

"This is absurd," she said, waving her hand dismissively. "I have no idea what you’re referring to."

The clairvoyant remained undeterred. She leaned in, her voice even more intense. "There is something you have done... something you have concealed."

All eyes in the room were fixed on my mother-in-law. She let out a laugh, but it was strained.

"I have nothing to conceal," she insisted, though her voice wavered slightly.

The clairvoyant tilted her head, her eyes narrowing...
